The International Warehouse Logistics Association recently awarded Ernie Harben, senior manager of safety and compliance with Saddle Creek Corporation, the prestigious designation of Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) at its Annual Convention in St. Petersburg.
The CLP designation was created by IWLA, the foremost trade association for warehouse-based logistics companies, to set standards of excellence and promote professionalism throughout the industry. To earn a CLP, individuals must complete five to six courses and make an educational contribution to the industry by speaking at an IWLA educational event, writing an article for one of IWLA’s publications, or serving on an IWLA committee, council or board.
“Ernie Harben is a dedicated logistics professional who is devoted to not only making himself and Saddle Creek prosperous, but also to improving the warehouse-based logistics industry’s professionalism,” said Joel D. Anderson, IWLA president and chief executive officer.
Harben is a graduate of the University of South Florida and has managed safety, health, and environmental compliance programs for the University of Florida, the Florida phosphate industry, Lockheed Martin and the Walt Disney World Company before joining the Saddle Creek Corporation in 2000. In his current role, Harben is responsible for overseeing all safety and environmental regulatory compliance programs for the Saddle Creek Corporation and Saddle Creek Transportation Inc.
